What is this product?
KetoCoach BHB Urine Strips are a brand new way to test for nutritional ketosis for ketogenic dieters. Unlike cheap urine strips which measure a ketone called acetoacetate (AcAc), the KetoCoach BHB strips are the only urine strips available which can measure beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB).
How is it different than other ketone urine tests?
This is the first and only urine strip which measures a molecule known as beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) in urine. Other ketone urine tests measure a ketone called acetoacetate (AcAc), which become less accurate shortly after starting the ketogenic diet. Why?
The first ketone made in the liver is acetoacetate (AcAc). But after the first several days of starting the ketogenic diet, acetoacetate production is significantly decreased and beta-Hydroxybutyrate (BHB) becomes the predominate ketone produced by the body.
Published research¹ has shown that beta-Hydroxybutyrate (BHB) levels are also detectable in the urine. And BHB is known as a better indicator of nutritional ketosis.
So a BHB urine test is a better indicator of ketosis than the cheap AcAc strips you can buy nearly everywhere.
Who should use this product?
Urine strips do have drawbacks such as being more sensitive to hydration level, and they cannot give you a quantifiable ketone level. They can only tell if you’re in ketosis or not.
But if you don’t think you can overcome your fear of pricking your finger and drawing blood, this is a great alternative² to accurately testing if you’re in ketosis compared to cheap AcAc ketone urine strips.
